Announcing Your Engagement

Announcements should be sent to your home town newspapers

Type or print the following information

your name, your fiancés name

names and addresses of both sets of parents

the expected wedding date

some background information (schooling, jobs, etc.)

In the upper right hand corner your name, address, phone number and date announcement is to appear.

You may want to include a 5x7 or 8x10 glossy photograph of yourself alone or you and your fiancé.

Remember, the society page editor will determine what and how much information will be used.

Announcing Your Wedding

You should include the same information as your engagement announcement but add:

the date and place of ceremony

the name of the clergy

a description of your gown and attendants

the names of the wedding party

the location of the reception

honeymoon plans and where you will reside

include formal portraits of yourselves
